Be very, very picky about who you spend your time with. Don’t ever underestimate the impact others can have on your success… Or your failures. Those you surround yourself with will either lift you up or pull you down.
I have been blessed in my life to be surrounded by some pretty amazing people…both personally and professionally. It is why I have had the success I have in my life. I am you sure you have heard the saying, “Birds of a feather flock together.” It makes sense, right? People who have the same interests, background, and things in common stick together.
What’s the good news?
If those people you spend most of your time with have the things you want in life, in your F5 (Faith-Family-Friends-Fitness-Finance), you are in the perfect spot and you are hanging with the perfect crew. On the other hand… if those people don’t have what you want in life, be very careful… you may be in trouble.
As I said, I have been blessed in my life to be surrounded by some pretty amazing people. Some of that was just luck and some of it was and still is by design. Obviously you can’t pick your family (mine is great by the way *BONUS*), but you can pick your friends and you can pick the colleagues you choose to spend your time with… at least for the most part.
“We all have the same 24 hours in a day, and have to make choices about how we’re using our time.” – Jarrid Wilson
One of the most important keys to success at anything in life is spending time with the right people. Not necessarily people you are most comfortable with, but people who will push you to be better… People who will influence you to be the best you can be… People who have what you want in life.
Do you want to know what kind of life you are going to have? What kind of money you are going to make? How healthy you are going to be? Just take the average of the 5 people you spend most of your time with… That’s your life. The average of those 5 people.
Back to the topic at the top, make sure you’re spending your time wisely. Be picky with who you give your time to, who you’re investing your time in. If you are, you can guess what is going to happen, and it’s not pretty.
